Botanical Serum
Feed the skin before you seal it.
Your face looks tired.
A little dull. A little dry. A little less juicy than it used to.
So naturally the beauty industry would like you to buy seventeen different actives, three acids, a laboratory pipette and possibly a small chemistry degree.
No.
Meet Restorative Elixir.
A concentrated botanical oil serum built around mugwort, cucumber seed oil and rosehip oil to soften, condition and replenish skin that is feeling dry, depleted, weather-beaten or simply very much over it.
Silky.
Light.
Beautifully nourishing.
And designed to sit exactly where it belongs in your skincare ritual:
Mist → Elixir → Tallow.
A few precious drops.
That is all she needs.
Restorative Elixir Botanical Serum | Mugwort, Cucumber Seed & Rosehip
There are oils.
And then there are oils chosen because they actually bring something useful to the table.
Restorative Elixir was created as the treatment step in the CVO Skin ritual.
Something more concentrated than your hydrosol.
Something lighter than your balm.
Something your skin can drink in before your tallow goes over the top and seals the deal.
The result?
Skin that feels softer, smoother, more supple and properly nourished, with that delicious healthy-looking sheen that says:
"Yes, I do take excellent care of myself."
Even if ten minutes earlier you were eating cheese over the sink.
BRINGS DULL SKIN BACK TO LIFE
Dry, tired skin can start looking flat remarkably quickly.
The botanical oils in Restorative Elixir condition the surface of the skin, soften roughness and help restore that smooth, supple appearance we are chasing.
Not glitter.
Not artificial "glow."
Healthy-looking skin.
There is a difference.
SOFTENS DRY, THIRSTY SKIN
Beautiful plant oils help replenish the skin's lipid layer, reducing that tight, papery feeling and leaving the face feeling cushioned rather than coated.
If your skin has entered its:
"Excuse me, where has all my moisture gone?"
era...
Hello.
COMFORTS STRESSED-LOOKING SKIN
Mugwort contains naturally occurring flavonoids, phenolic compounds and antioxidant constituents.
In Restorative Elixir, it earns its place as the calming botanical presence of the formula.
Particularly lovely when your complexion is looking a little frazzled, weather-exposed or cranky.LOVES MATURE SKIN
As skin matures, it often produces less of its own surface oil and can begin feeling drier and less supple.
This is precisely where an oil-based botanical serum makes sense.
Restorative Elixir delivers a concentrated layer of skin-conditioning plant oils without drowning your face in a heavy cream.
Your skin gets the richness.
You keep the elegance.ANTIOXIDANT BOTANICAL SUPPORT
Mugwort and rosehip contain naturally occurring antioxidant plant compounds.
Why should you care?
Because everyday life is rude.
Sun.
Wind.
Pollution.
Stress.
General existence.
Antioxidants help support the skin against the visible effects of environmental stress while your oils keep the surface beautifully conditioned.SUPPORTS SOFTNESS + SUPPLENESS
Rosehip oil is particularly rich in unsaturated fatty acids including linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids, along with naturally occurring tocopherols and carotenoids.
These beautiful lipids make rosehip one of skincare's great botanical oils for maintaining a soft, flexible and conditioned skin feel.
It has earned its reputation.
We invited it.MUGWORT
Artemisia vulgaris
The old-world herbalist of the formula.
Mugwort contains naturally occurring flavonoids and polyphenols and is valued for its antioxidant botanical compounds.
Think comfort, conditioning and botanical support for a complexion that looks tired or stressed.
And frankly, there was always going to be at least one slightly witchy herb in here.
You know who you're dealing with.
CUCUMBER SEED OIL
Cucumis sativus
Forget cucumber slices sitting decoratively over someone's eyelids.
We went for the seed.
Cucumber seed oil is a beautifully lightweight skin-conditioning oil that helps soften and smooth without giving you that greasy, suffocating feeling some facial oils leave behind.
It gives Restorative Elixir its gorgeous slip.
Silky enough for mature skin.
Light enough that you don't feel like you've basted yourself.
Everybody wins.
ROSEHIP OIL
Rosa canina
Rosehip oil is rich in linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, tocopherols and carotenoids, making it particularly beautiful for dry, mature and dull-looking complexions.
It helps support a soft, supple skin feel while giving the formula its deeply restorative character.
This is not here because rosehip sounds pretty on a label.
It has a job.
Warm a few drops between your fingertips.
Press them into clean, slightly damp skin.
And give it a minute.
There is something deliciously old-fashioned about using a proper botanical oil serum.
No foaming.
No tingling.
No "if it burns, it means it's working."
Just that slow, silky glide over the skin.
The subtle botanical scent.
The shine that settles into something softer.
And the feeling that instead of fighting your face...
you are feeding it.
That is the ritual.
THE FULL CVO SKIN RITUAL
Cleanse → Mist → Elixir → Bright Eyes → Tallow
After cleansing, mist the skin generously with your favourite CVO Skin Hydrosol.
While the skin is still slightly damp, massage 2 to 4 drops of Restorative Elixir between your fingertips and gently press into the face, neck and décolletage.
Follow with Bright Eyes around the eye area.
Finish with your favourite CVO Skin Tallow Balm.
Hydrosol provides your watery botanical layer.
Elixir provides your concentrated botanical oil layer.
Tallow finishes the ritual.
Simple.
Logical.
Luxurious.
USE IT ON ITS OWN
Massage a few drops into damp skin and leave it there.
Especially beautiful during warmer weather or whenever your skin wants nourishment without a richer finish.
MIX IT WITH YOUR TALLOW
Put your usual amount of tallow balm into your palm.
Add one or two drops of Restorative Elixir.
Rub together.
Apply.
Congratulations.
You have just created a ridiculously luxurious personalised face treatment in approximately four seconds.
NIGHT-TIME TREATMENT
Use a little more generously before bed, particularly across the face, neck and décolletage.
Wake up.
Inspect royal complexion.
Proceed accordingly.
Restorative Elixir is particularly beautiful for:
• Mature skin
• Dry skin
• Dehydrated-feeling skin
• Dull-looking skin
• Weather-exposed skin
• Skin that feels tight after cleansing
• Complexions lacking softness and suppleness
• Anyone wanting a concentrated botanical treatment without a complicated routine
• Tallow lovers wanting to take their ritual up another notchAnd anyone who has looked in the mirror recently and thought:
"Good grief. We need reinforcements."
Here they are.
Because not every serum needs to be water, gums and a laboratory shopping list.
Oil-soluble botanical compounds and fatty acids have an important role in conditioning the skin and supporting a soft, supple surface.
Restorative Elixir concentrates that oil phase into one simple treatment step.
No ten-layer routine.
No waiting twenty minutes between mysterious bottles.
A few drops.
Then tallow.
Done.
These two do different jobs.
Restorative Elixir is light, concentrated and designed to spread easily across the skin.
Tallow Balm is richer and more occlusive, helping soften the skin and reduce moisture loss from the surface.
Use them together and you get the best of both worlds.
First the silky botanical oils.
Then the glorious fatty goodness.
Your face will understand the assignment.
Both.
Use a few drops in the morning underneath your balm if your skin likes extra nourishment.
At night, make the ritual richer.
Hydrosol.
Elixir.
Bright Eyes.
Tallow.
Bed.That is significantly more appealing than a twelve-step routine involving alphabetised acids.
Very little.
Start with 2 to 4 drops for the entire face.
This is concentrated botanical skincare, not salad dressing.
If your skin still feels thirsty, add another drop.
Your face will tell you.
A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY
One of the advantages of a concentrated oil serum is that you're not paying for a bottle mostly filled with water.A few drops cover the face.
Which means your little bottle of Elixir sticks around considerably longer than you might expect.
Tiny bottle.
Serious mileage.Mugwort.
Cucumber seed.
Rosehip.A silky botanical serum created for skin that wants more softness, more nourishment and more life without more bloody steps.
Use it after your hydrosol.
Use it before your tallow.
Use it whenever your complexion looks like it has been carrying the entire kingdom on its back.
Feed the skin. Seal it in. Get on with your day.
Restorative Elixir.
The treatment step your tallow has been waiting for.
For external use only.
Patch test before first use, particularly if you have sensitive or reactive skin.
Avoid direct contact with eyes.
Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Store away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
I have a love affair with mugwort.
There. I said it.
The more I learned about this ancient plant, particularly its long history in Chinese herbal medicine and traditional skin preparations, the more fascinated I became.
Naturally, fascination turned into growing it.
I now have Chinese mugwort, tree mugwort and the conventional European mugwort growing around me, because one mugwort was never going to be enough.
And eventually I knew I had to make something in honour of it.
But Restorative Elixir wasn't created just because I love a plant.
I needed it.
My tallow ritual was missing a step.
I wanted something silky between my hydrosol and my balm. Something that would give the ritual more cushion, more slip and a little more time.
I regularly perform lymphatic drainage massage on my face, and I wanted a product made specifically for those slow few minutes of touch.
No essential oils.
No overwhelming fragrance.
No complicated active cocktail.
Just four simple ingredients, carefully chosen to give my hands enough glide to massage the skin while leaving my face feeling soft, conditioned and beautifully nourished.
Skincare can simply be an excuse to stop.
To put your hands on your own face.
To massage your jaw.
To soften your forehead.
To notice your skin instead of scrutinising it.
To give yourself another minute of care before rushing onto the next thing.
That is what Restorative Elixir became for me.
Because I wanted the experience of self love and adoration to last a little longer.
A little cushion between mist and tallow.
A few beautiful drops.
A slow facial massage.
An extra moment to touch and love the skin I live in.
A beautiful botanical serum created around one plant I adore and the simple luxury of giving yourself a little more attention.
Self-care, with better slip.
